Hessilhead Wildlife Rescue Trust

From a wooded small holding near Beith in North Ayrshire, the Trust rescues, repairs and rehabilitates injured birds and animals for return to the wild.

A number of our staff are volunteers at Hessilhead, regularly assisting in the work of the Trust.  One major venture was the building from scratch of an additional aviary for large birds such as seagulls.

As most of Hessilhead's patients don't like human company and the Trust's aim is to return the creatures to the wild once healed, visitors cannot be shown round, except on the organised annual Open Day.  However, anyone who would like to volunteer to help out should get in touch with the Trust direct.
