Riddance®
Herbal Head Lice Removal Kit
It has been widely reported in the media that
over-use of chemical head lice treatments has caused millions of head
lice to develop immunity to these lotions, with 87% of head lice now
resistant to the lotions. This means that parents are less and less
able to rely on conventional treatments.
Riddance contains a unique
natural active ingredient that fights resistant lice - a natural
product of the Indian Neem Tree. The extract from the tree contains a
powerful natural insecticide which fights head lice in a number of
ways. Unlike conventional products which have a single mode of action,
it interferes with all stages of the life cycle of the louse,
preventing feeding, growth, development, and reproduction. As a result head lice cannot develop resistance to Riddance.
Riddance was the idea of Dr Rob Strang at the University of Glasgow who
realised that the complex mode of action could be developed into a
product. "I saw that a particular
neem extract could be developed into the ideal solution for a head lice
treatment - effective, natural and safe."
Riddance was developed in a
research programme with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical
Medicine. The research was unique in that head lice were collected for
the study from the heads of infected patients around the UK. The
specific extract of the Neem tree in Riddance was found to be extremely
effective against head lice, even those that had multiple resistances
to the chemical treatments.
